"Congratulations" elephant baby card

Hello.  Here's another of my swap cards using the Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack.  I'm telling you, I just love all those colors and stripes and polka-dots.

I wanted to do a baby card and I thought these colors would work for boy or girl.  I loved these little elephants from the "Baby Bundle" stamp set as soon as I saw them.  They're great for paper piecing, which I did here.  Of course you could color them with markers or watercolors too.  So many options.

I also used another stamp set for the balloon and sentiment.  Those both came from the "Happy for You" set.  That's a great set too.  And the baker's twine holding up the balloon is from the coordinating Whimsy Ribbon pack.

Here's a closer look at the stamp sets I used:

I hope you enjoyed this card.  See you back here soon.

"Have a Sweet Birthday" cupcake card

Hello.  Remember me talking about doing a recent consultant swap?  Well, I did two rounds, the first using the Rustic Home Fundamentals & Memo Fundamentals papers, which I've talked about in the last few posts.  In the second round I was assigned the "Whimsy Fundamentals" paper pack from the Annual Inspirations catalog.  Here is the first card from that round.

Isn't it cute?  This paper pack really called to me when I first saw it.  I love all of the colors and all the patterns in it.  On this card I used the "Sweet Birthday" stamp set.  I just love that cute cupcake.  I paper pieced the "frosting" and the candle stem using more papers from the Whimsy paper pack.  I used our ShinHan markers to color the cupcake wrapper and part of the candle.

And look at that fun ribbon and baker's twine.  I'm so glad these paper packs have coordinating ribbon.  I've missed using it on my cards.

Here's a closer look at the "Sweet Cupcake" set:

Fun right?  Well, thanks again for stopping by.  See you next time.

Have a purr-fect Halloween!

Good day!  This is a card we made in my August card workshop.  Unfortunately this stamp set is no longer available, but Halloween's on the way, so I still wanted to share.  If you've followed me in the past, you know I like these Center Step cards.  I just think they're fun and not something people see every day.

I've always liked purple and green for Halloween, so I used two polka-dot papers from the newer "Adventure Fundamentals" paper pack for the sides and bottom of the card.

And those who know me know that I LOVE to paper piece.  (I love my micro scissors!)
I stamped the cat on a piece of grey paper from the "Rustic Home Fundamentals" paper pack.  I also stamped the hat, mask and a couple of bats on White Daisy cardstock, colored them with our Shin-Han markers and cut them out as well.  I stamped and colored a couple bats on the inside of the card as well.  You can see one peeking out in this photo.

And who doesn't love a little bling.  I added a few random sparkles just for fun.  I also used the new Simple Chevron embossing folder on the White Daisy cardstock behind the cat.  Embossing just gives cards that little something extra.

This card happens to qualify for the new challenge over at Heart-2-Heart challenges, so I'm entering it there as well.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this card.  Thank you for stopping by!

"Our Home" layout

Hello.  The last item I made for my recent consultant swap was this "Our Home" double page layout.  I used papers from both the "Rustic Home Fundamentals and the coordinating "Memo Fundamentals" paper packs.

I'm not normally a scrapbooker, so this part is always a challenge for me.  But, I used one of the Close to My Heart how-to pattern books, "Cherish", and it made it that much easier.  I used the layout pattern called "Clear Dimension".  Here's a closer look at the left page.

I cut apart one of the Rustic Home ribbons and made it more like a twine to thread through the letters I used from the Rustic Home Complements.

And of course I couldn't pass up using the new Sea Glass Glitter Paper again.  I also used the new Sea Glass cardstock and embossed it with our new Wood Slats embossing folder.  Here's another grouping of items from the coordinating Complements.

Here's a closer look at the Right side.

As you can see, I used more Complements and I also added a Flip Flap to the vertical photo mat.  If you look closely there is a new PML White Frame Overlay inside the Flip Flap.  Once a photo is added it will have a fun floral border around the photo.

I loved the font of this word "Blessed", so I had to make sure it had a spot on my layout as well.  It's another coordinating Complement.

Here you can see my entire swap.  Our assignment was to make one Double Page layout and 3 cards.  We had other requirements like using at least 3 new stamp sets, using the new Cricut Flower Market cartridge, using one of the new Embossing Folders and/or the new PML Overlays.  We also had to use coordinating ribbons and complements.  I think I managed all the requirements and I'm pretty proud of this round.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Rustic Home items over the last few posts.  I also did another round in this same swap so I'll be posting those soon.

On Your Wedding Day card

Hello.  Here's another card from my recent consultant swap.  This time it's a rustic wedding themed card.

Once again I used the papers from the Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack.   I just love all the options of the neutrals in this pack and the fact that some of the papers are embossed and/or vellum and an added bonus.  Like my last two cards (here & here), I once again used a pop of color with a stripe of Sea Glass Glitter Paper.  I love that glitter!

I stamped a sentment from the Wedding Wishes stamp set on a pre-printed wreath from the "All Together Complements" that coordinate with the Rustic Home papers.  The heart is also from the Complements set.  And once again, I used another ribbon from the Rustic Home Ribbon Collection to finish it off.

Here's a closer look at the "Wedding Wishes" set.  Such pretty fonts.

I hope you liked this simple little card.  Thank you as always for stopping by.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a Happy Day!

Hi.  I wanted to share another card I made for a recent swap and my latest card class.

I fell in love with the new Close to My Heart stamp set called "True Love", which benefits CTMH's favorite charity, Operation Smile.  Isn't that little guy adorable?  I used a little piece of polka dotted paper from the Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack and paired it with one of the new Rustic Home coordinating ribbons.  I also wanted to add a pop of color (like on my last card) so I used the new Color of the Year - "Sea Glass".

I paper pieced the two balloons, one with another piece from Rustic Home and the other is Sea Glass cardstock.  What you can't see in my photo is that I used our new Shimmer Pen on the Sea Glass balloon, so in person, it's fun and sparkly.  I also paper pieced his shirt.  I stamped it in Slate Grey and cut it out.

I also love this set because I love to color.  I used a few of my Shin-Han markers for his skin, hair and shorts.  Don't mind my coloring out of the lines, I made this card in the middle of the night and my eyes were a wee bit tired, lol.

Here's a closer look at the stamp set.

Isn't this adorable?  I love it!  The little girl is so cute too.  So many possibilities.  This set is available for the life of this catalog, so thru July 2017.  It retails for $17.95 and CTMH donates $7 of that to Operation Smile.  Operation Smile is a non-profit organization which provides surgeries for children to repair cleft lips and palates.  Such a worthy cause.

As always, thank you for stopping by.  Please check back soon.

Pretty little sympathy card

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted on here since February!  Where does the time go?  Anyhoo... I'm back!

Nothing much has changed here.  Still working at my day job, busy with family in the evenings and trying to squeeze in time to teach my monthly card classes and get ready for my fall craft bazaars.  Whew!  Well, I'm going to work on posting some recent items I've made (as well as some (now retired items) I haven't posted over the last few months).  Wish me luck!

Here's a pretty little sympathy card I made using product from the new Close to My Heart Annual Inspirations book.

I just participated in a product swap called "Awesome Artist's Swap" with some fellow consultants and I was asked to make my items using the "Urban Home" and "Memo" Fundamentals paper packs and the matching ribbon collection.  I love both of these paper packs because they are full of neutral papers, which can go with anything.

I decided to add a pop of color with CTMH's new "Color of the Year", Sea Glass.  It really is a lovely color.  And it even comes in glitter paper.

I don't tend to make many sympathy cards in my classes or swaps but I loved the fonts used in the new "Heartfelt Thoughts" stamp set.  And unfortunately, there are times when a sympathy card is needed.

Another requirement of the swap I participated in was to use the new CTMH Cricut Cartridge called "Flower Market", hence the lovely little bouquet on the card front.  The "Flower Market" cartridge is really pretty fantastic.  It comes with hundreds of images, both 2-D and 3-D.  Just look at the cover of the Annual Inspirations Catalog:

Those flowers all came from the new cartridge.  Lovely, aren't they?

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little card.  I've listed items used below, with links to my website.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Take care.
